Product Description
This is the endplate from the rear-wing of Michael Schumacher's Benetton in 1994.
This is a real part of the B194 - the car that took, arguably, the best F1 driver ever to his first World Championship.
For the 1994 season Schumacher was with Benetton, after spending a very successful 1992 & 1993 together.
Prior to the partnership Benetton were a midfield team, but the young German elevated the team up the order as he frequently scored podiums & race wins for the Enstone team.
The opening seven races of the 1994 season saw Schumacher run riot over the competition. With an impressive six wins and a 2nd place, Schumacher had 66 points and his closest rival, Damon Hill, was on just 29.
The season started to unravel for the German over the next six races. Although he did take a dominant race win at the Hungarian GP, but the other five races saw him retire once, get disqualified twice & sat out for a two-race suspension.
Now with just three races to go, Schumacher's 37-point lead had been whittled down to just a single point. The next two races at Jerez & Suzuka would see them both take a win & a 2nd.
What happened at the final round showdown in Adelaide is one of the most controversial endings to a championship fight in F1 history.
Schumacher leads the championship by just one point and the race by just one second, with Hill directly behind in both. As Schumacher makes a mistake, Hill attempts to benefit and makes a move for the lead into a right-hander.
Schumacher, unaware, turns in & the two collide. Both cars DNF - and Schumacher takes the title and wins the 1994 World Championship by a single point!
After taking this World Championship, Michael Schumacher would go on to become arguably the greatest driver in history.
Schumacher would go on to win six more World Championship titles, take a career total of 91 race wins.
This piece of heritage, is not just a part from Schumacher's car, it's a part of the first World Championship - the first of many.
