Product Description
Heritage F1 collectors won't miss this rare opportunity to own this authentic reproduction of Jo Siffert's 1970 helmet, which is accompanied by a photograph signed by the Swiss driver himself.
Affectionately known as 'Seppi' to his fans and F1 peers, Jo Siffert was a prominent figure in the motorsport community. During the 1960s and 1970s, the Swiss driver became one of F1's most dynamic and fearless competitors.
A Master of Motorsport
Making his F1 debut in 1962, Siffert drove privately entered race cars, but it wasn't long before his talent shone through. Snapped up by Rob Walker Racing Team, Siffert's impressive driving style led him to his first Grand Prix victory at the 1968 British Grand Prix. It marked the last victory for a privateer team in the 3-litre F1.
The racing ace was not just involved in F1, however, and had a highly successful career in other divisions, including his notable win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1968 alongside Hans Herrmann.
Tragically, Siffert's racing career was cut short during the 1971 World Championship Victory Race, after an accident at Brands Hatch. His death led to significant protocol changes that have impacted the course of racing; the legacy he left behind remains in the motorsport community to this day.
